Can anyone recommend a source for new saddlebags that look like the early 50s Full size bags? TIA

Call Chuck at Kick Start Motorcycle (616)245-8991. He sells repop king size bags from the early 1950s (48-52 vintage). I also believe JP cycles sells similar ones. Chuck is always great to talk to on the phone.

Ken--Thank you so much for the recomendation and trying to "keep it in the family" so to speak. Let me say I am not here to trash anyone's reproduction products, but a lot of this stuff is made outside the US and with no attention to detail such as a crease on the straps, proper rivets and hardware, correct leather and embossing, and I could go on and on. I have copies of the original production drawings for all Harley-Davidson seats and saddlebags from 1940 on. If you want quality and historically accurate products, I am your source. If you don't care and just want something to hang off the fender then V-Twin, J-P Cycles or other mass market vendors are your answer. My products are 100 point reproductions and all materials and labor are US of A!!!!----------------------Michael Paquette--Worsham Castle Cycle Leather www.worshamcastle.com

Thanks for the info, guys. I did have a look at the Worsham web site but wrongly assumed his products stopped with the '47 bags.
I'd rather wait to buy a quality product and pass on the V-Twin stuff.
PS Can anyone recommend where to find a pictur of the '57 Big Bertha bags?
            Thanks a lot

                '57 bags

If you want to see a picture of the '57 Big Bertha bags, Palmers' book "How To Restore Your H-D" has a picture on page 476.

VPH-D ---I can make most of the Harley-Davidson leather saddlebags. I just did not have enough room on the website to list all the stuff I offer such as mudflaps, kidnet belts, reproductions of the H-D ladies handbag from the 50,s, etc. A lot depends on finding the correct hardware, so just let me know what you are looking for.----
