What is the difference between a police stand and a regular jiffy stand?

Is the police jiffy stand the one that is curved outward?

I think it was just about the "pads", Jerry!

        My '65 book lists:
        50061-36A for '48-'64 civvies,
        50061-36B for '65- civvies,
50061-52 (without pad)(used with rear siren)
        50062-40 for '41-'64 (with pad)(police)
        50062-40A for '65- (with pad)(police)

        That's all I know.

In case it's helpful, someone previously posted below image. Believe it's from Palmer, but don't know what edition. I think differences include pad and curve (for siren) and maybe tip, as applicable.

            Police side stand

Glad to see the discussion. My limited knowledge on the stand is the addition of the pad as Cotton says and yes I am running the siren. As to the bend I can’t give any good dimensions. I don’t have one.. yet.

Now that I have installed the correct side stand I thought some clarification would be helpful. The image (B) is deceiving. The curve of the side stand is obvious when the stand is stowed. In no way does it clear the siren. What it does do is tuck up against the Sirens foot pedal to frame bracket. Which is just below the outer primary inspection cover. I hope my explanation is clear.

There are two different police jiffy stands. One for with a siren and another for without. The one for with siren makes a 90 degree turn outboard on the last few inches of the stand.
