    Emblem Rivet Socket

    RE: 57 FL
I am the owner since 72. It was a Massachusetts State Police, I believe the tanks are original. They are now bare metal. I don't see any indication that there are or were any sockets (not sure what to call them). Doesn't appear that the holes were filled or brazed or welded. Could bikes be ordered without emblems and if that's the case would the tanks not have any provision for rivets? Are adhesive emblems secure when applied to a clean surface?
    Thanks,
    Sam

Lots of police bikes were originally shipped with tanks painted for the department and no emblems whatsoever on them. Original '57 and '58 tanks are flattened in a circular area where the emblem fits. If they do not have the flat they never had emblems.

Thank you for the reply. There is no flat area. I'll skip the emblem adhesive or otherwise.
