    parkerizing

I Parkerized the footboards, and battery tray for my '51FL today. I encourage everyone to do that themselves for their bikes. It's easy, and fun and you get a pretty quick reward for your effort. Bruce Palmer gives a good primer on how to do that in this magnificent "How To Restore Your Harley-Davidson" books.

I plan to get my rivets for the footboards from McMaster Carr.

I didn't see the correct split rivet size on McMaster Carr. Any good suggestions of other suppliers?

Eric try Hanson Rivet out in California. They are into everything to do with rivets.

Thank you, Tom. The tough part is the head size which is 5/16" on the footboard rivet. I'll give Hanson Rivet a look. Thanks.

I agree Eric. Been doing my own for decades. I get my mag from Brownells.
