Front fork help

When I assembled my front forks I did not use the upper baffles associated with part 45775-49 and only used 45776-49 (fork tube plug). Did I make a mistake and those baffles are in fact needed?

The baffles are air/oil separators which prevent oil from getting to the valves in the plugs and keep the forks from leaking out the top. Yes, you need them if you intend to ride your bike.

Thanks Robbie, I suspected as much and parts book did not really help to much. I'm basically assembling this bike from boxes so it makes it somewhat challenging when it wasn't assembled to begin with.
