  • 48 Panhead exhaust/barrel finish - black matt/satin/gloss?

    Hi Guys

Any help on this? Palmer does not specify.

On the carb body - this should be black matt?

    Thanks

    Technically, Matt,..

Everything "black" was 'gloss', but naturally a rough casting will not be 'reflective'.

Linkerts were slightly less 'glossy' than Scheblers, but probably because Scheblers were smooth die-cast potmetal.

Beware also that 'lacquers' used on carbs often 'blush', with little reflectivity unless polished. There was rarely enough paint applied for that.
Since none of the original paints are available today, just please yourself!
