Is there a rule re: VIN numbers and Line Bore numbers that there should be no more than 30 numbers between the two?

    Thanks!

There can be one digit difference, or hundreds. No "Rule".

I know of at least two bikes in the era with identical VINs and Line Bore numbers. I was rare, but not impossible. Just the odds of probability, a result of how the numbers were applied independently during crankcase assembly and final assembly in "batch" production.
