    juice rear brake drum widths

Does anyone know the width difference between the early and late brake drums for duo-glide/electra=glide? I just took the drum off a '65, and it has a cast number on the back of the drum, but the shoes are the wider style. Palmer says the wider drum has a stamped and not a cast in number. The drum I have measures 2.37" from the top of the lip where the backing plate is positioned to the side where the number is cast in (hub side).

Dont have an early duoglide handy to measure but 63-65 is 2 1/16 in. inner width. Every one ive ever seen or owned had raised casting numbers. Palmer claims there are both. It has a lip extending past the sprocket that often gets damaged.

Yeah, I think that's the one I got. My measurement was from the top of that lip to the backside. Thanks for the info.

Bruce sometimes writes stamped when he means cast.
