    57 Panhead VIN

Saw a bike on craigslist for sale. Its supposed to be 57 cases, has a shovel top end. When I asked the guy if the belly numbers matched he said he didn't see any... that was a red flag for me. My next question was does it have a Harley vin, he said yes and sent me a picture of a partial number, 57FLH53??

My question is a about the 7. The number on the case looks like this 7... other 57's I have seen the 7 has a short leg on the top left side of the number that points down. All of the Pan cases should have belly numbers correct? What would be correct?

    Thanks for the info.

Post a pic of what you have, a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Yes, original cases would have belly numbers.

Something else to look for, an FLH would have an "H" stamped on each case half, where the rear motor mount bolts go.

That pad has been modified, built up and is shaped wrong. And the number stamps are wrong. Pass...
