I sold a nice one missing the tumbscrew for $100 bucks more than what you paid with shipping so you got a fair deal.
Weld up the 2 holes and dress them up and do a little bodywork and paint it for a restoration.
The original earlier boxes had a brass rod with a dimpled end that would hold that rod in place when installed to hold the cover.
I've made rods out of old coat hangers adding a dimple with a hammer .
Old Dude sells the thumbscrew from what I have been told but I do not know if they are better than the one shown or how expensive they are or aren't. Good luck, 46EL
