I've read through my Chilton manual and HD factory manual (1948-1965) looking for a specific torque value on the 12 rocker cover bolts and the only thing I've found is "tighten bolts evenly" in the factory manual....
That's pretty vague.
I have new chromed steel Pans, thick multi-layered D Rings and James factory style "paper" gaskets. I plan on using ThreeBond adhesive as well....
I've gone so far as lapping the covers to level high spots too.
Been working on Shovels, Evos and Flatheads for 42 years but haven't worked on a Pan since '77...
Now I own one again.
Any info on torque in In Lbs or otherwise will be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!
