  • Brake Crossover Tube Grease Fitting

    Hello everyone.

I am trying to find the correct grease fitting for a frame. The frame appears to be a straightleg Pan. The crossover tube does not have a fitting installed at present.

I know repops exist, but I also have this silly feeling that I could probably just pop down to the hardware store and grab one if I knew the size.

Can any of you guide me to what size that zerk fitting might be?

    Thanks!
    -L.

The zerks are a special thread, 5/16-32. I have been able to order them by the box in the past from NAPA, but they won't be in the hardware store. They also will not match the original exactly, so if this is a restoration they are not correct. Old Dude and others have correct ones.

Ah, thank you. Well, if it's a special-order sort of thing, I will order from Carl's or Old Dude or something, may as well keep the money "in the family".

Thanks for the information. Unfortunately, this bike is very, very far from a resto. It's a ULH sitting in a very, very chopperized Pan frame.
