  • Looking for a Good Source for 1965 Pan Parts

    Hi,

I'm looking for a Good place to get 65 Pan head parts, just looking for Soft parts not trans or motor parts...Thanks

Of course, ebay. However, before you drop copious kopecs on something like a seat, or sheet metal, or one of the many one-year-only '65 parts; do a lot of research. There are a few people here that really know the '65 and you should run your questions by them.

I bought a couple of incorrect parts during the re construction of my 65.
I've found everything now, except the left exhaust pipe heat shield.

Here's a little light reading for you.

My feeling is that you are 50 years too late to find a "Good place to get 65 Pan head parts". As the guys' stated you need to educate yourself and buy the right pieces when they appear. Jerry

There is no good source for 65 pan parts as they are a lot of one year mid year changes. Although I really like myfirstpan's bike and photos. It's not totally correct. It's a great looking bike for sure and he should be proud to own it, but getting a 65 "right" is very very hard. So you need to decide how "original" you really want to get. PM me if you want to talk further.

Right now there is an opportunity. MachIVMotors has parted out a 65 on e-bay. I found no pics what it looked like, but there are several 65 only parts listed!! The Red Label Starter, 1-yr Timer, Un-drilled lever bracket (clutch/brake)
I won't be bidding on anything (on principle)
I have no connection to the listed seller.
