I recently bought a brake lining set from a popular supplier and noticed that the rivets appeared to be slightly shorter than I remembered. So I went to my storage container and found a couple of new/old sets of Chicago Cycle Specialties linings that I bought through Dixie many years ago (the real asbestos linings in the white boxes). These rivets are, indeed a little longer and therefore offer better anchoring. If I remember correctly, Harley used No. 4/5 rivets on the brake linings - can anyone confirm that? Also, I believe that these rivets were originally made from brass - I see anodized aluminum on the rivet Manufacturer's web sites. Please confirm that brass is correct material.
