when looking at the left side of the bike the screws on the hose clamps should they be on the top or the bottom on 62 pan

Opening myself up to attack...
I suspect they were horizontal on the bottom, like the Factory '65 pics.
Just bubble-test, and you will be OK until somebody points their finger at them.
