  • Can't get broken pogo stick out on my 65

I've gotten the nut off the bottom of my broken pogo stick, but I can't get it to move. The post is broken off about 3 inches down from the top, so the procedure in the service manual can't be used. I've even tried driving it out with an impact hammer, but it won't budge...... help!

How many nuts should I have removed from the bottom? The service manual says one, but there are three nuts on the new one above the bottom nut that I removed. Am I missing something?

I've had that problem on at least 4 bikes. Or, should I say projects. I've never been able to drive the sleeve out, however, I was able to make up a slide hammer affair that worked. . . Once. Usually, I chisel the shards out by grinding a cold chisel to fit the job. I've also made a chisel type tool to get between the sleeve, and the bushing, or frame tube. By the time you have made that much progress (or done that much damage) the seat post sleeve is ready to surrender. The worst one I had was on my 1916J, and I had to make an extension for a drill, to drill the damn thing out. Patience, and dogged determination are your best tools for that miserable job. Good luck.
