Badges/Emblems on my '49

Does anyone have specific (or rough) dimensions on where the emblem should be placed on '47-'50 Harley tanks? I have a set of stock tanks that I have repaired.........but don't really have a reference as to where to mount the emblem mounts.

Most pics I have seen shows the front of the emblem lined up with the middle of the gas cap.

I hope the pics load.
I stood my tank on end with tabs and stud against the back wall- 14 3/4" from the bench to TDC of the badge.
Flexible tape following the radius of the tank from the neck to TDC of badge- 3 1/4"
Pic 1 shows straight edge from shift gate bolt to shift lever bushing,
These are original tanks with Eagle Iron badges.
