Does something belong here?

58 panhead, rear of right side case. The machining around this hole suggests it is more than just an open vent to the outside world.

A pretty good slug of oil blew out of there when started after setting for a few weeks. I presume that the oil comes from normal sumping, but I've never seen it blow out like that before. Any advice would be appreciated.

That's where the primary oiler/case stud bolts through. Bob L

Ouch! Can you tell me what the stud actually threads into?
