  • 1950 belly numbers

Hi, folks. This isn't really a technical question, but I could use a knowledge infusion if there is spare out there. I just picked up a 1950 FL - good case/VIN, no alterations, straight backs on the 6s, etc. Belly numbers are matching, and look like they should, stamped 1950. But...Palmer says the first digit of the belly number should designate the engine size, with an FL being a "1". Mine are marked "350-xxxx", which according to Palmer should be a 45". Any explanations out there?

    Thanks!

    Justin

Thanks, Bob. Palmer says that a 61" OHV should be stamped with a 2! So I guess these "rules" don't always apply? Or are just wrong...?
