  • 65505-58 vs 65505-61 Y pipe does anyone know if there is a difference?

I have a 1958 FLH. Does anyone know if both of these y pipes will work for the dual exhaust system. I have checked a few books and I'm not sure.
I have the chance to get a 65505-61, but not sure it would be correct for my 58 dual exhaust.
It says the 65505-61 is for 61 to 64. But other research indicates 58 to 64.

    Thanks so much

As I recall, 65505-58 is for single exhaust, and is 3 inches shorter in length. 65505-61 is around 16 inches, and for dual exhaust.

1958 models had true dual exhaust, with no crossover. In 1961 this system was abandoned and a crossover system was adopted. The 58 parts became obsolete. You need to check as to which system is on your machine. As I recall the 58 "true" duals had no y pipe , just a straight section. The 61 has a y pipe to accommodate the crossover. Hope this helps.
