    reproduction oil tank for panhead, opinions??

    Has anyone had experience with the reproduction horseshoe oil tank? Such as fitment and quality.

    Just curious, why not use a genuine tank? They are usually reasonable in price. . . Unless I'm that out of touch

      I tried a repro oil tank on a 47 U. After mounting, could not fit u bolts for coil between tank and seat post tube and had problems with the chain guard bracket, it had huge bolt hole drilled in it. An original for a pan should be easy to find, might even cost less than the repro and if you have to replace the chain guard bracket at least you'll have the opportunity to get it in the right location and drill the right sized bolt hole in it.
