1961 duo glide battery cover

Can someone tell me if the battery cover was painted black or chrome plated on a 61 PANHEAD? I have seen them both ways and can't find anything in the Palmer book.

It really depends on the chrome group package. In palmers book page 628 it is referenced to be a part of the King of the Highway group #F-5

I'm going with the chrome finish group #F-1. I looked through his book and I could not find anything on the battery cover although the pics. I have seen most of them are black.
