Harley D boards

I have a 62 pan and am looking for some info on the floorboards. The books I have been reading show that they come with a D style board rather than the the rectangle curve side. I was wondering if most of them came chrome, black, or parkarized? Just trying to get the right ones put back to gether.

Mine are black and d shaped.I have a 62 original paint that I Purchased from original owners son. I can email you some pics if you would like. Also just looks palmers book, page 632 and black is correct.

Hmm. Well typically folks will call the 1965 and earlier boards 1/2 moon and the 66 and later boards "D" boards. At least in my circle of conversation.

Half moon (shaped?) are correct for '65 model year. In fact correct for all pans. 1965 was the last year for the half moon boards.

66 and later D boards are correct for shovels.
