I just bought a 54 FLE with a ratchet top transmission/mouse trap. I am having trouble getting it to go through the gears. I litterally have to "kick" it through ( no grinding). Once it is in gear it runs fine. I adjusted the clutch but it didn't help. Any advise would be appreciated. Thank You.

If the clutch is not disengaging all the way it can cause hard shifting from a stop. Once you are rolling it will work good. It usually will not go into neutral cleanly either once the bike is stopped. Jerry -
