Judges, got a points question on 58 frame

Would any points be deducted for the factory fix(support plate welded on) on the drop seat frames at the crank side rear casting?

      “Interesting question”
I’m not so sure that all judges would deduct points for a factory fix. If I was judging the bike I would probably note it rather than deduct points. My reasoning being that Owners are encouraged to ride their bikes, modifications to comply with local legislation and safety are allowed without deduction. The fitting of brake lights and reflectors would be an example of this. A factory fix to prevent the frame breaking could fall into the same category and therefore would not be penalised. I have looked in the judging guide lines and this exact scenario is not mentioned. It’s important that judging is consistent so I will bring this scenario up with the judging committee for clarification.

The machine is supposed to appear as it did upon arrival at the dealership. That means no dealership installed modifications. Point[s] should be deducted.
