    Are insulating blocks standard on all pans? if not is it a good idea to use one or not? thanks .

    The insulating block 27412-48 was used on all panheads. It is a good idea to use it.

      There was one on my '65 and it's still there. I seem to remember one on my Dad's 68 shovel as well but not positive.
