  • Frame Lock

I am wondering who if anyone sells a solid reproduction of the fork lock that goes in the neck of an oem wishbone frame , also on a side note can you modify a set of 60 and up trees to make the neck lock work with them

I got my neck lock from Bill's in Penn. I think he's also known as zimalady on ebay. The deadbolt, spring, and freeze plug came from V-Twin. 1951's don't use the s.s. trim ring. If you find an old time locksmith, he should be able to make Briggs and Stratton keys. You could put paint or ink on the end of the deadbolt to leave a mark on your neck stem, then drill a hole to allow the deadbolt to clear.

The lock cylinder would have to be removeable (i.e. don't pin it). The lock has a cam on it's business end and when the cam rotates, it moves the deadbolt in and out.

If you have a deadbolt rusted in your frame, you could drill and tap it through the hole in the front of the neck, and slide hammer it out.

Then you need the whole sha-bang! Does this have to be correct? The one Bill sells is an H prefix key and has the stainless cover that is 55 and up. I suggest you read this thread first. http://www.hydra-glide.com/phpBB3/vi...php?f=5&t=7664 and then this one http://www.antiquemotorcycle.org/bbo...-lock-question . skip over the parts were I'm banging heads with the dummies. Go to your local auto store and buy a magnet on a stick. Just make sure the diameter is small enough to fit though the neck hole or put a blob of window putty on the end of a rod. Bob L

There is a welch plug on the front of the stem. It must be removed to get the pin out!

There is a Welsh plug on the front of the neck. Might be covered up by bonndo. It will be in direct line with the pin. Now go read those posts and learn. I got to get back to Spanky and the gang. Bob L

What is your name already? You can still install a new cylinder but the damage you did to the slit pin hole is going to pose a problem.
