gas shut off

on my 62 pan the gas shut off vibrates its self closed and shute=s the gas off . I instaled it like it looks in the parts book Help!!

What condition is the shut off rod upper seal; maybe it is worn out? Bones

I used to make the upper seals from gas line.
It needs to be snug to hold the rod.
Not a great design.

I made a seal for mine out of fuel line and it has worked great for 5 years now.
