    1948 lifter blocks

    were the early 48 lifter blocks cast iron . If so about what VIN # did they change thanks

    I dont know if the early ones were cast iron but my 48(VIN just over 7000) has aluminum lifter blocks.

      My '48FL had the iron lifter blocks, exactly like the aluminum versions. I do not know the VIN off-hand since I sold it and it now resides in Ohio or Wisconsin, I think. It made Winner's Circle so the VIN should be in the judging database. If I find the VIN, I'll PM you. But it was an early one with the right hand case cast like the knuckle case.
