  • Bump on front springer leg

    this front springer leg is on Ebay . Does any one know what the bump in between the the rods means .I have A number 4 with no bump and a 7 with the bump Thanks

    this is what I got from researching this on the internet. I learn a lot from his blogs.

    "This little hump between the springs was used on 42 springers. This is a tough bugger to find. I have seen them on xa forks wr forks and big twin forks!"

      The profile of the casting bellow the bump is also a continuous arc, it is different from earlier & later spring legs. I was told they were used late 1941 thru early 1943. My 1942 UL has a #9. The boss for the spring rod nuts is different because of the arc.
