      Hm, here is the story:
Bought a set from Colony ( Colony # 9726-20+9699-12) and they have both plain heads.
Head bolts have a special thread 7/16"-16, maybe the where made by Harley and not from CP???
But rocker box mounting bolts are standard 3/8"-16 thread, also made by Harley??
      ?????????????

After H-D got geared up for war production they started buying their common hardware from Chandler Products. Specialty items, like the gear box adjusting screw, rear axle adjusting screws, were still made by H-D. I have 1035 headbolts but haven't seen any CP 1035 rocker box bolts. Sadly they are not visible in factory photos.

I have been told that they have been found. Personally I haven't seen them.

I agree with Chris. CP only made standard run of the mill bolts. If it was a specialty item, the factory or another vender made them. A perfect example would be the bolt that holds on the rear XLCH oil tank up till 65. If the bolt you referring to is funky as to the shoulder or reduced shank diameter etc. CP didn’t make it. The only ones I’ve seen that were weird that were provide by an after market supplier are the F head bolts. 5/16 with a 7/16 head. Bob L

Here is a photo entered into the log on 4/15/44. Notice it has the machined hardware on it. They must have had a good stock of Knucklehead stuff.

I have 1035 CP rocker box bolts and head bolts on my '46, and have seen many others with them. I think Chandler Products would produce special bolts for Harley because of the large quantities ordered.
