I believe the early 36 Knuckles had a special bracket attached to the rear fender for the chain guard? When you think about it Late VL's did also? My question is does the early Knuckle Rear Fender Braces Brackets that mount to the Frame match the VL Brackets in shape and size? Or do they match the 38-38 Fender Brackets with the more pronounced dogleg that the mounting bolt goes through? Any help? Thanks!

I have seen three different chainguard/fender brackets for the '36 E models. Most of them use the same bracket as the '37 and later.
The first type can be seen in the photo.

Thanks Chris but what i'm really looking at is the Fender Brace Bracket that actually mounts to the Frame. The Right or Muffler Side Bracket in your photo almost looks like it has the dogleg where the mount bolt goes through. The VL Brace comes almost straight down without that dogleg. What I was questioning was on the early 36 where the Left side brace is drilled with the 2 holes for the Chainguard bracket. Did they carryover the VL style fender Braces untill they were used up? Or did they restyle right off the press in 36 to the doglegged bracket? Thanks again. Jp.
