What is the correct finish on the 2 countersunk screws on 1944 U and knuclehead shifter gates.Were they cad,chrome,park or painted? I can't seem to find that info in the restoration book.The book says the shifter gate is black.

Photo on pg.564 of Palmers book shows the parts in question. Screws look black so I'd go with parkerized as I don't believe the factory ever just painted hardware.Brian Howard AMCA#5866 -
