    Case repair parts

I have a '41EL motor with typical crack below and in front of the number boss. Since I am tearing it down I would also like to replace the missing generator saddle from the cam side (right) case.
    Does anyone produce repair pieces?
Does anyone have a donor right side case?
Are the Pan and Knuckle generator saddles identical?

    Thanks.

The later 3 brush pan cases are different, from 55-57. The casting is more filled in for strength and they did not have a counterbore for the tapered washer under the strap stud nut. Don't know of anyone casting a repair piece, send me an e-mail and I'll see if I have a case I can cut one from.

Big thanks to you Kyle - I just got my knuck running last night! Started on the 3rd kick after ignition on - I was stoked! 25 Miles so far, one big oil leak (who would've guessed?). Rode her in to work today.
Hope to ride down your way later this month on the way to Davenport.
        Thanks again for your help!

            Thanks.
Phil at http://knuckleworks.com/ will sell you a perfect replacement case and put all of your numbers on it. Note that he only has the late style 1941 case with the long ribs. He also has the pre 1941 short ribbed cases.

Thanks Chris. I should've pointed out that I bumped an old thread. Kyle set me up with a generator saddle piece last fall, then I had it welded to my right side case. A little massaging with my modified needle scaler afterwards and it looks real good. I'm back on the road after a three year layoff. Feels real good to be handshifting again.
I talked to Phil at Davenport last year - his left cases look real good. Considering some of the junk people are resurrecting, they're probably a good deal. On the other hand, there are people out there who can repair just about anything.
