Ron Grygus, who has been doing my frame restoration for the last 30 years, has passed. Ron was the best. When his repairs were done you could not see where anything had been done. Ron had a huge pile of bent up, cut up, frames to salvage usable parts from. There was no one better. So now I am looking for someone else to do my frame work. Anybody have any good references?

Chris, Jim Long in Iowa has done two frames and some case welding for me, and I've been happy with all his work. He was referred to me by two AMCA members a few years ago. If you would like, I'll be glad to foward his info when I get in tomorrow night. VicVic Ephrem

I have had two frames repaired by The Frame Man in Sacramento, CA.
In particular, my 1953 BMW R51/3 had been in an accident and the frame was bent and broken in the right rear. I was able to find another bent frame (bent headstock) and Walt was able to fix my original frame (and thus maintain my matching-numbers bike). When I got it back, he had put some paint on the repaired areas to keep them from rusting, but you simply couldn't tell where he had done the work. Now the bike is back together again and it rides true.
See the whole story here.
