My new Knuck bobber will have a new five speed tranny in it. Has anybody had any experience adapting a modern front wheel speedometer drive to a star hub?

Chris, Given the value of your responses to everyone else's questions, I'm sorry I can help with your question.
HOWEVER, I did want to thank you for the pics you have posted in your "Signature Links". I really like the "Smoke 'em" and the "Babe on Harley". Do you collect pics, or are these all yours? I have a few digital pics that you may be interested in. My uncle was a Harley flat track racer, sales manager, service manager and later, a referee at all the big events. He's in the AMA Hall of Fame (Freddie Ephrem). Anyway, I have several pics of him in the shop crammed full of mid-to late-40's Harleys and his buddies, also in front of the dealership wth some of the same suspects. I also have a few pics of him on bikes ... after a race on a WLDR (late 40's I think), and on a 40 Knuckle with another uncle on the buddy seat. If you're interested, let me know how to send them to you. VicVic Ephrem

I didn't want to use a later model drive on the star hub. But I finally found a way to do it and hide it. After the drive is installed I will drill a hole in a 11260-46 hub cap. The speedometer cable will exit through this hole and the modern drive will be hidden under a period accessory.Be sure to visit;
