Well, I lucked out with a pretty nice Fender Lamp on Ebay. The cover will need some work, but the base is very nice. Now I have another question. The gentleman who listed the part said it came off a 1945 Knuckle. The hole in the base that the wire passes through has been
pryed up to created a shoulder for the wire insulation to slide against instead of the metal edge. The few bases I've looked at have a rubber grommet pushed into a flat hole instead of this bend. Did the factory do this bend to eliminate the grommet during war years? I thought I'd pose the question before I flattened it to fit a grommet. Thanks, BobBobComment
