Chrome on civilian bikes. Keep in mind the civilian production mostly occurred before war was declared. The last civilian contracts were shipped by late January, the first of February '42. '42 civilian bikes are not "war years" bikes per se, they were built using existing inventory. Production and orders were stopped shortly after the bombing at Pearl Harbor but existing orders were filled if possible. Some stuff was already almost gone and most 45 production was already switched to military use but BigTwins continued for a bit longer .
