    Knucklehead cylinders

Is there a easy way to identify a 1946 rear cylinder from a front cylinder? 1946 FL. Thanks

Rear cylinder has one relief in the fins for a pushrod cover, front has two. With the relief facing you the rod clearance notch on the skirt faces right. 61 cylinders have a fire ring on top, 74 do not.
    This is a rear.

Robbie, your knowledge never ceases to amaze me. And your willingness to dig out parts and take photos... much appreciated!

Robbie, Thank you for the picture and explanation. I finally got the cylinders back from the machine shop and the marks I had were gone.
