Carby identifcation

i have checked it & the flange .all so built up the manifold so it only just fits between the head & machined it true.I will put it back to original spec & see what happens

I am confused, Macca,

"Built up" means you welded or soldered something?

A 'plumber's' manifold shouldn't be tight between the nipples;
Have your heads been converted to O-ring?

(The original width of most Knuck manifolds averaged about 3.410", with the rest of the gaps bridged by the seals.)
