  • Transmission Question

hello guys and gals, I have a question about the transmission in a 1946 F. I know that at least most of them were equipped with a 3speed or 3speed w/Rev., but is it possible that any came with a 4 speed? If it matters, I'm talking about a late '46. VIN is North of 74xx.
    Thank you to all.

My personal thought is that by 1946 most HD's had a 4 speed for a transmission. An F though very well could have been either 3 or 3R because it may have been a Police or Sidecar motorcycle. I think by 1946 4 speed may have been standard equipment.

A 1946 order form may show which transmission would have been standard for 1946.

    Sorry for the non answer.
