The Longer 32E Generators,

I have a couple of questions about the longer and higher output 32E generators First, We're they only police issue or does anyone know if they could be ordered on a civilian model Knucklehead or U models. A
And Second, Did they all come with a 32ER or 32ER2 designation. Could a civilian model bike have a higher output generators with just a 32E designation. I read the volume 2 of Palmers Third Edition but didn't understand e everything I guess or just missed it. Any clarification would be helpful.

The short answer is no. They were only offered as a package with Police units. They were no available as a stand alone item. The wiring harness regulator and mount, etc were specific to the high output generator and were done when the bike was being assembled to a police order. The "R" stands for radio.
