Dear Jerry, are those two flats on the srud? That would be the one-year 1930 VL rocker stud 2640-30 with a 7/16" shank. These were beefed up to 1/2" for 1931 and of course there were variants for front stands. Harley was also tinkering with fixing the rear studs, and in 1930/31 there was a thin washer 2646-31 under a lock ring 2647-31 which fitted in a groove in the end of this stud. All this was fixed for a long run after 1932. These one-year items can still occasionally be found nos as dealers must have stocked up spares for the new model VL only to have some of them obsolete after the first year.
