  • 1937 Knucklehead front and rear chain guard mountin bolt and nut

Palmers says it is a 5/16-24 compression nut and 064 bolt for the front of the rear chain guard ..What is used on the front/Primary chain guard rear lower mount that goes through the frame . bracket .Thanks to everyone who helps.

    Dan,
Not sure what Bruce means by "compression nut" , I'll have to ask him. But all the 37's I have worked on had a threaded boss as part of the rear chain guard at the front. The 064 bolt (5/16-24 x 3/4) with a 0259 5/16 lockwasher goes through the primary cover bracket, through the oil tank bracket then into the rear chain guard. The lower bolt is also the 064 with the loclwasher and a 0117 nut. If you have an original or correct repro rear chainguard the front bracket is riveted on as opposed to spot welded
