  • Rear sprocket

    Was the rear sprocket ,ring and rivets painted black.Thanks in advance for your time

    I believe the rivets, dowel pins, and sprocket were park.

      Restoration done by Highway Choppers in Phoenix, AZ. I'm not saying that it is correct, but they are pretty well regarded as the authority out here.

        Always painted black after the sprocket was riveted on, makes sense doesn't it.

          I dunno Carl..

          How did they keep the drums from rusting before they got their sprockets?

          Gotta admit though, lots of hardware was park'd to be a primer for paint, like footboards and even cylinders.

            I had a NOS rear drum with sprocket. After it was assembled it was painted black. But the sprocket was masked off below the rivets and dust ring and not painted.
