  • The Knucklehead Years book series is published

Dear All, with 1900 pages in four volumes covering three years each, this new series contains all the important Harley period literature January 1936 to December 1947. For each year there are full page color photos of original paint or accurately restored bikes, technical and marketing commentary, then copies of all 147 original Enthusiast magazines, plus every knucklehead sales brochure and dealer new model announcement. A two-page summary then wraps it up, with more bike pictures on the front and back covers. Here's what they look like:

For US copies contact Carls Cycle Supply. For continental Europe W&W Cycles. For UK, Rest of the World, and signed copy sets VL Heaven. Thanks to all those AMCA members supplying pictures and information for this comprehensive specialist publication.

Yesterday we received copies of the Knucklehead Years book series from Steve. If you want to know more about the Harley Davidson Knucklehead, the people who owned and rode them back in the day and the general current events of the motorcycle history at the time they were manufactured, this is the book for you. There are 4 issues that cover different stages of development of this famous machine along with all of the Harley Davidson Enthusiasts, dealer new model announcements, year to year changes and upgrades. As usual with all of Steve's periodicals it is a well written class act with numerous pictures of accurate correct restorations of every year for your viewing pleasure and as a research tool for your current or future project. Dear Dave, thanks for the nice words. Those Enthusiasts have reproduced really well and there are loads of interesting stories and many pictures of bikes in service. The military issues are also interesting, with many pictures of 45s in service, and a great 1945 story of an earlier ride through North Africa and Italy on a 61 OHV. I've collected 370 original 1925-50 Enthusiasts for these book series which need some serious thinning out if there are originality fans out there.

Steve, I also received my set of H-D Knucklehead Years books nicely packaged about 2 weeks ago. I started with the last issue since one of my bikes made it in that one. It took me awhile, but I looked at every page in that issue, what a wealth of information-Great job!! Now to read through 3 more.
I'm glad I bought a set-they are well worth getting if anyone is wondering. Thanks again.
