  • Flywheel Tapers

Hey, is there a difference in the 36-39 flywheel tapers from the 40 and up tapers? What I'm getting at is, can you install 41-up crankpins/shafts in the early wheels? Just use different bearings/cages?

    Thanks for your time

No, but you can use the 1940-52 EL/UL pin and 3/16" rollers with your wheels and rod set. The sprocket and pinion tapers are the same.
1936-39 EL, UL: 1-1/8" journal, 1-1/8" tapers (straight, small diameter)
1940-52 EL, UL: 1-1/4" journal, 1-1/8" tapers (stepped, large diameter)
1941-* FL: 1-1/4" journal, 1-1/4" tapers (straight, large diameter)

Thanks Kitabel, I knew I'd get a straight answer here.
