  • 37 Knucklehead Oil Pump?

I have a mid year 37EL, with a panhead oil pump on it. I have
been told that the 37 oil pump was not machined flat, around the
oil gauge line fitting, like the 39-40 style pump. I have not
seen an early pump ,like that. Any input on this?
    Thanks Lee

    Sorry for this late reply,

Attached is a photo of a pump on 37EL112X, and the counterbore is evident.
To the right of it is 37EL 172X, and there is none.

Both motors came out of the same barnfull. (Actually, one was partially exhemed from behind it.) Maybe they were switched?

    Best I can do,

      Thanks for the info.
I just found what, I was looking for on, E-Bay
an early pump body, unmachined around the oil sender hole
