38 frame neck casting mark

Hi there,

I was told the frame was 38 original ....
here is the neck of the bike. IMG_8587.jpg

the cast mark DIF in square is almost gone but you could see " 2 " clearly...
is that common #?

also , I looked at the neck of my 49 but I do not see any mark on it...
so.. is that mark only 30's neck? please advice....

#2 was used in 37 and 38, in 49 the die # is in the dash mount.
