37 ULH / EL rear fender position

    Hey experts,
Do any of you know the position of the flat bar riveted luggage rack on the early big twin rear fenders? I just found one and want to put it on this weekend.
As always, thanks for your grey matter.

Hi Steve, the rack on my '37 UL is 1 1/2 inches up from the hinge. It was on the bike when I got it. It doesn't sit horizontal. I think if you sat the bike upright and sat the rack on the fender horizontally it would look right. In the 1937 accessory catalog it looks level.

Parallel to the ground is correct, use a level with the bike upright. There are also some aftermarket racks out there also, the feet differ as well as one type being a welded not riveted construction.

The longer legs go towards the front.
